Fans' fury as last-minute penalty costs Town dear

Coca-Cola League One

RESULT: Swindon Town 0 Hartlepool 1

Hartlepool scorer: Clark (pen) 90

A controversial penalty decision left Town empty handed on a frustrating night at the County Ground.

A high-kicking Jerel Ifil was ajudged to have fouled Hartlepool's David Foley in the last minute much to Town players' disbelief and home fans' fury.

"It's never a penalty. The ref has made a massive mistake," an equally shocked Danny Wilson told SwindonWebTV.

"We can't change the decision and we've got to get over it as quickly as we can."

Earlier, a sluggish Town had failed to breakdown a resolute Hartlepool defence. And despite second-half good chances for Cox and Peacock looked likely to settle for a point until the referee decided otherwise.

Town remain in 19th, just a point above the drop zone.
